Dragon Scale Binding
This book binding was inspired by the dragon-binding method used in ancient Chinese scrolls. Each page is carefully glued and measured to the master page to create an image out of the hand cut pieces when laid out. I used velum paper for a delicate look and asked friends and peers to use the word “flower” as a prompt for a five-minute free-write. I paired each free write with a personally photographed flower.
